Metal Roof Tax Credit
We sent a message back in January announcing the reinstatement of the $500.00 tax credit available to homeowners who install an Energy Star labeled metal roof in 2009. With the recent passing of the new Stimulus Package, the metal roof tax credit has been raised to $1500. The credit will be retroactive to the start of 2009, and will continue through December 31, 2010.
When considering the tax credit, it is important to understand exactly how the credit will work. Some key points to note are:
- Only Energy Star labeled metal roof qualifies for the tax credit
- The metal roof must be installed between 01/01/2009 and 12/31/2010.
- Only the cost of metal roof materials will qualify, NOT installation costs
Now is the time for homeowners who are considering installing a metal roof to act. We know that the tax benefits of installing a metal roof is something that interests our homeowners.
Alpha Metal Mfg.,Inc. offers 26 and 29 gauge material with a UL2218 Impact Test that meets class 4 rating for the Energy Star Standards. These qualify for the metal roof tax credit.
